Back in August last year three of our members participated at the inaugural Brass Monkey Sailing Regatta at Lake Eppalock. Lead by Gyles, Jack and Aedan they had fine weather over the weekend. With 20 Scouts and Ventures from 10 formations the weekend was a fantastic start to the season. Also competing on the water at the same time were 17 Leaders. |
|
Gyles, Jack and Aedan competed in the Venturer Section. In this Venturer Section it was won by Ryan Cooke and Edward Hawkes from 2nd Eltham Sea Scouts sailing a Corsair. Second was Gyles, Jack and Aedan sailing a Sabre. This is a Great Achievement for the Group and for Gyles Jack and Aedan Well Done !!

Thanks to all the families who participated in the Ice Cream van this year.
And thanks to a spectacular run of hot weather, it was our most successful year yet.
Only mishap was a plug that partially pulled out of one of the freezers, meaning 200 or so icecreams were too soft to sell. but they did re-freeze and they've been given out to families who worked in the van (if you haven't picked yours up yet, contact our treasurer!)
And the hit of the week - a new item - Golden Gaytime - took us by surprise! Almost sold as many as Magnums!
Thanks again for your help.

On Sat 19th Nov 2011, Freya was presented with her ASM along with 99 other Scouts at the official ceremony held at Tintern school. It was a fitting finish to her Scouting career after working very hard to complete her Green cord and also attending the World Jamboree in Sweden.

Freya led her band of wily scouts on a three day hike through the Otways for part of the Great Ocean Walk the week before Easter. This was for Freya's Green Cord Hike.
Griffin, Cameron and Oliver all had a great time, despite a little bit of rain. They got enjoy fantastic sea-shore views, cliffs, tracks hidden in the low vegetation, wild-flowers, and even the odd wild animal including koalas, giant bull-ants and a black wallaby!
